He sighed and looked at Carmen. "I'ma get at you later on." He walked into his room.

I picked him up anyway and took him to his room. I got him ready for bed and as soon as he hit the sheets he was sleep. I knew he was tired that's why he was acting so silly. I came back out and joined Carmen on my couch.

Then Carmen threw herself at me. She started making out with me like we were a couple or something. At first I gave in then I pushed her away.
"What the hell was that?" I said stunned.
"I just thought-"
"Nah ma you got a man remember. Now maybe if you get your end together maybe this...we can happen but nah you got me twisted right now."

She put her head down because she knew she didn't know what Derrell was really going to do to her. Jody lifted her head up by her chinwith his hand.

"I have everything under control, Jody," Carmen said as she stood up. "I should go."
"Let me walk you to the door."

She walked down my front steps and waved goodbye.

I waved goodbye and went back inside. I shook my head as I sat on the couch. I knew she'd need me to handle her little boyfriend sooner or later, but I was done pressing the situation for the time being.

"Jody, get up, my nigga!" Cornell yelled, banging on my bedroom door as he walked inside. "Your shorties in the living room looking lost and whatnot, and you in the bed."
"What it do, Cornell?" I asked, pulling my cover from over my head and trying to figure out why I gave this fool a key to my house.

"Damn Cornell a nigga can't even sleep in. Now get out so I can get ready." I said closing the door.
I got myself together and when I came out to the living room Jordan was crying.
"What's wrong?" I said as I picked him up.
"I thought you were dead." Lil Jody said.
"Dead?"
"I came in your room and you were in the bed."
I burst into laughter. "I was sleep."
"But you didn't get up when I tapped you."
"I'm sorry come on let me get you some breakfast."
