"Where do you work?" I asked since she wanted to know all my BI.
"I don't."
"Why?"
"Well I get my bills paid for but I do hair on the side so I guess I'm not completely unemployed."

Carmen brushed her long hair out of her face and smiled. "You're a good guy, Jody. Why aren't you with your kid's mom?"
"They have different parents. I love Lil Jody's mom and we're good friends but we have creative differences. Jordan's mom doesn't have anything going for her, though. She refuses to get a job and doesn't even have a GED. I can't deal with someone like that."

"I don't know I haven't really been looking but I will now that I'm here." I looked straight at Carmen.
She acted as if she didn't have anything to say. I got up and picked up Jordan and took Lil Jody's hand so we could go home.
"Leaving so soon?" Carmen said.

When we got inside, I offered her a drink. When I came back into the living room, she had both Lil Jody and Jordan on her lap.
"What are ya'll talking about?" I asked.
"Nothing, really," Carmen said, laughing. "Lil Jody is a trip. He's been in here trying to spit game for the past thirty seconds."

I just shook my head. My boys were like spitting images of me which was amusing.

He was a little mack daddy already. I looked at Jordan and he was out cold, he must have ran himself tired at that playground.
"Let me put him in his bed, I'll be back." I said to Carmen.

I picked Jordan up and carried him to his bedroom. I took of his Air Force One's and put them in the closet before rejoining Carmen and Lil Jody.
