I went in the bathroom and washed the tears away and reapplied my makeup. We got in Kiara's truck and drove to Tae's apartment. The one thing I loved about Kiara is that she had a car and it was no faking it for the butler. Jamie and Kiara took my side as I knocked on Tae's door.

Tae's words cut right through me and though there was so much on my mind I couldn't even get it out.
"Can you please just talk it out?" Jamie said.
"Yeah we didn't drive over here for nothing." Kiara added.
"Look I just-"
"Come on can you please. We're not trying to make a decision for you we just want y'all to talk. Please." Jamie begged.
"Ugh okay...alright."
Tae opened the door more for me and Kiara and Jamie went down to the truck to wait for me. I went inside and sat on Tae's couch and we just stared at each other.
"Okay so what you have to say?" Tae said with an attitude.
"A lot." I said wanting to burst into tears.
"So speak then."
"Look Tae, I understand I was wrong I get all that. Just understand that I'm better than this. I've never did anything like this before. I just wanted real shit, I was tired of the fake high society boys. So when we first met in the park I just knew I had to have you. I guess it's just me being a brat getting everything I want all the time. I should have just told you the truth from the start, but I'm not like you think I am."
"Like I think you are? What are you talking about?"
"I'm not like Will."
"How do you know about him?"
"Listen I just heard, but that's not the point. I just want to tell you that I know it's more to life than being this rich bitch and people actually have to work hard to get what they want. It's just that I mean money doesn't always make things so easy. Yeah my parents have the cash, but they're never around I'm always alone with just my maid and butler or at Kiara or Jamie's house. I don't know what it is to have a real family and I want that. So being with you just gave me a connection to someone I've never had before. But...I understand if you just want me to leave and never come back." I said getting up and walking slowly to the door.

I started getting nervous when I touched the doorknob and Tae was still sitting down.
"Wait," he said as he stood up and approached me. He opened the door. "I'll see you around."
I wanted to break down in tears at that moment. I couldn't believe he'd just played me like that.

I walked down the steps slowly and got in the back of Kiara's truck. I put my seat belt on and looked out the window. When I looked ahead to see why Kiara hadn't pulled off her and Jamie were turned around looking at me.
"So...what happened?" Jamie asked.
"Nothing....it's over." I said.

I shook my head. "It's cool. Let's just get out of this dump."
Jamie started to drive. When we finally made it back to our side of town, I went straight to my room in Kiara's house, ignoring her mother when she asked me what was wrong.

At this point as much as I wanted to cry I couldn't, because I knew there was nothing I could do. Clearly Tae had his mind made up and he didnt plan on changing it any time soon.

"I'm cool," I replied.
"He wasn't right for you anyway," Kiara stated as she rubbed my back.
"I really liked him, though."

"Yeah but everything you like isn't good for you. Remember those red Jimmy Choo heels I had? They were super cute and I liked them but they hurt my feet and made them sore. See that wasn't good for me." Jamie explained.
"But he isn't like shoes Jamie. I loved him we really hit it off and now...now he's gone."

Months and weeks had gone by since I had even seen Tae and as much as I tried to hide it, it was killing me inside. It was like everyday I was just going through the motions of being happy. I started to stay to myself, I didn't hang out as much with Jamie and Kiara. A couple times I get my driver to drop me off at the mall and I take a cab to ride by the park to see if I can see Tae. A couple times I thought about getting out, but I was too scared. Mikey had called me a few times to try to get me to hang out, but I always ignored her calls. I guess I was tearing my own self up inside. Mikey called me one day and told me that I need to just talk to Tae just so I can have peace with myself and I guess she's right.

I sat on my bed with my thumb on the call button under Tae's name. I was too afraid to push the button, but I was also to afraid not to. After a few minutes, I finally mustered enough courage to call him. I pushed the button quickly and put the phone to my ear.
"Hello?" he answered. "Who this?"
"This is... ummm... this is-"
"Asia," he finished for me.
