As soon as I hung up, my door opened.
"Who was that, Asia?" Daddy asked.
"Ummm... Kiara."
"You know dam- you know darn well that that wasn't Kiara."
"You were listening to my conversation?!"

"The last time I checked this way my house and I paid the bills. So who was that?"
"It was Kiara."
"Why are you lying to me?"
"Why were you even listening to my conversation? So now because you have nothing to do you want to play daddy now?"
"What are you talking about?"
"You and mom are never here. You all just leave and travel the world while I stay here lonley as hell."
"Watch your mouth."
"No not anymore. Parents are supposed to raise you not a maid, butler, and chef. This shit isn't right and you just can't see it and its right in front of your face." I started tearing up and grabbed my bag to leave.
"Where are you going?" He yelled walking behind me.
"Don't worry about it I take care of myself."
I slammed the door and walked to the closest main road before calling a taxi. I really wish I could tell Tae everything but, I just told him I was at the park. I took the taxi to his neighborhood and waited for him. A few minutes later he came walking to where I was.
"Shawty? What's wrong?" He said. I couldn't even reply I just fell into his arms and started crying. He picked me up and carried me into his apartment.
"Shawty you gotta tell me what's up."
"I just...I just need to cry right now."
Tae sat down on the couch next to me and pulled me close to him before kissing my tears away.
"Do I need to fuck anyone up?"
"No...its just with my parents."

"What happened?"
I really wanted to tell him what was up, but he'd know I'd been lying. "I don't want to talk about it right now."
"Asia-"
"I'll tell you later."
He held me for a few more minutes before speaking. "I'm going to Shuneal's house. Mickey is over there with a friend. You want me to send them over here? I don't want you to be alone."
I nodded.

I quickly got myself together when Tae left so I wouldn't look crazy when Mickey and the other girl girl got here. A few minutes later they showed up.
"Hey." I said to Mickey.
"Hey wassup...this is my friend Cherish." Mickey said.
"Hey how are you?" Cherish said.

"I'm fine. What about you?"
"I'm cool."
"So, what's going on?" Mickey asked. "Tae said you were upset about something."
"You promise you won't tell anyone if I tell you?"
"I can't do that, Asia. If you're in trouble I have to let Tae know."
"I'm not in trouble."
"I'll decide that."
I sighed. "Okay." I proceeded to break down the story to Mickey and Cherish.
Cherish nodded in understanding as I told the story, but Mickey looked a little out of it.
"Asia, you do realize that you can get Tae into serious trouble, right?" Mickey asked.

"Trouble? I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble. But how?" I asked.
Cherish looked at me and started to talk. "Look if you didn't know the people on your side of town and this side of town aren't even supposed to be hanging out."
"Why?"
"Well you know everyone thinks rich people look on us and takes pity on the poor people without doing anything. Then one guy that used to hang out with Tae and Shuneal moved over there. His name was Will he was like a big dog around here and as soon as he inherited his grandfathers house on your side of town, he didn't come back. He ditched them so ever since then everyone has just been beefing with that side of town." Cherish explained.
"Damn just because of that. So should I tell him the truth now or just keep telling lies?"
"I don't know I mean either way you're screwed."
"Well tonight I'm supposed to be going to his crib so should I tell Tae then?"

"How old is Tae?" I didn't recall ever asking him his age, but that seemed like it would have been a sensible question.

Mickey and Cherish were right so I decided to call Tae to tell him we needed to talk. When Shuneal came back Mickey anc Cherish left and Tae came in the house after them.
"Asia? Where you at baby?" Tae said as he walked into his living room.
"Right here."
"What did you need to talk about?"
"I umm...what do you think about people that lie?"
"Ugh I hate people that lie, it's so dumb I don't even understand why they make a lie to cover up a lie."
"Oh.."
"Why?"
"Because I told a lie and I want to confess to someone."
"Well what is it?"
"I'm not really eighteen."
"Oh so what are you like nineteen?" Tae asked laughing to himself.
"No...fifteen."
"What the fuck?"
"Yeah Tae I know I just-"
He cut me off. "Why would you lie about that? I'm a grown ass man that's not right. What else?"
"I don't live in this neighborhood."
Tae calmed down a minute and looked at me. "Where you stay?"
"I live in the Westlake Hills."
"So what you some rich bitch?" He asked while I just looked at him. "I can't believe I've been letting you hang in my crib and all this shit and you're only a lil ass girl."
"Tae I'm telling you now before things get out of hand."
"It's already out of hand. I can't believe you."
"Tae!"
"No...get out." He said sternly.
"But Tae."
"Get the hell out."
I thought about saying something, but the hurt in Tae's eyes made me leave. I couldn't bear to see him like that. I ran down the steps and called a cab to take me to the mall before I got my driver to take me to Kiara's house from there. As soon as I got in Kiara's house she was waiting on me.
"Where have you been?" She said.
"No where."
"Asia I hope you're not still seeing that boy."
"And if I am?"
"Look I'm going to tell soon or later."
I just walked past her and into the guest room before she barged in on me.
"What is your problem?" Kiara said.
I couldn't take it anymore I just burst into tears.
"Oh my gosh what's wrong?" She said.

"I told him the truth." I said crying hard. "Now he doesn't want anything to do with me. He put me out.... What am I going to do? I was really feeling him." I said all in one breath.

Kiara looked at me without sympathy. "Asia, I told you that that was a bad idea." Her voice then softened as she sat next to me on the bed. "But you're my girl so I won't rub it in. I'm gonna call Jamie and tell her to come over."
